Small Town-Big Hearts
Being part of a small community like Putnam County, Ohio, means embracing a way of life where connections run deep, and people truly care for one another. It is about walking down the street and being greeted with friendly smiles and warm hellos. It is seeing familiar faces in local shops, schools, and parks, creating a sense of togetherness that makes even the simplest errands feel special.
Local shops and stores, often run by friends and family, add to this wonderful sense of community. These businesses are more than places to shop—they are gathering spots where stories are shared, relationships are built, and the heartbeat of the town is felt. Living in Putnam County brings the comfort of belonging—a feeling of being rooted in a place where traditions are cherished, neighbors look out for one another, and shared values shape the rhythm of daily life. It is the kind of community where home is not just where you live, but where you truly feel you are part of something greater.
This holiday season, we have seen you out in our local shops, having lunch with friends and family. We have seen you cheering on loved ones as they march in parades or perform on stage. We have seen the holiday spirit come alive all over town from events like the Go Ottawa for their Once Upon Main Street: The Night Before Christmas Storybook Trail, Christmas Market and Christmas in the Park in Glandorf, Light up Leipsic, Christmas in Kalida, and more. We have not only seen it—we have felt it. This holiday season, we want to say thank you for choosing to shop locally and supporting local events. It is what makes this community so special. I have lived in many places in my life, and this place—well, it is truly unique.
Thank you, Putnam County, for making the holiday season so magical this year!
